Couple of months back, a prominent Interior designer from Delhi, gave us a product brochure of a wood flooring company of Italy (he had picked it up from one of his visits abroad) requesting us to source the same for his projects.

Upon studying the details, I was amazed at the beauty of the floors and could not believe that such beauty could stay hidden for so long (the company had been in existence since long but had not been seen at major international wood flooring events).

I contacted the company and scheduled a visit to their factory in Italy. Upon meeting the owner, I was pleasantly surprised by his passion for his creations. His attitude was infectious as he went about explaining and showing his artful creations (Calling them plain wood floors would be doing gross injustice). Even though he did not speak a word of English and I did not understand a word of Italian, his passion said it all..

2011 has been a momentous year for us at Span Floors and we have thoroughly enjoyed the victories, struggles, laughters and sadnesses while we were out there to serve you, our dearest Span Floor customers & specifiers. Just to put things in perspective, we successfully supplied materials for 400 rooms at the Crowne Plaza, NCR, Got specified at another super premium luxury 5 star hotel project, Opened in 4 more cities increasing the Span Floors presence to 24 locations throughout India, building a new showroom at the hub of premium building materials market at GKII in New Delhi, Successfully introduced and established STP super premium wood flooring from Spain, Kueberit aluminium profile systems from Germany, OUTWUD – Speciality exterior wood brand to the Indian market showcasing the cutting edge Thermal Modification technology. All this while continuing to execute an all time high numbers of premium higher end residential & commercial projects all over India.

A quick update on the Span floors 2011 ongoing sale! Our customers are enjoying some fantastic value on our top of the line collections.

Some of my personal favorites in particular have moved quiet fast. The early birds had a blast with the fantastic variety available at unbelievable prices :-)

I would like to share a personal experience here. In many a sites, I have observed that the job of supervising the installation of the flooring or related to that matter, is generally handed over to the site supervisor appointed.

In an all perfect world, that alone would suffice. But sadly, that is rarely the case. Most of the times, the supervisors appointed by the site owners are themselves not well briefed or trained. They do not know what to expect, the practical considerations and how to get the best out of the installation team fully. It results into unnecessary frustration on site which could have been otherwise an enjoyable exercise.

I would recommend that you take some time out of your busy schedule to meet the installation team personally, if possible. Communicate your expectations clearly and listen to their viewpoint as well. Our recommended installers are highly skilled and are decent guys capable to doing a great job provided they get the right support. After listening to your expectations, they might share certain challenges based on the practical situation at your site. Help them overcome those. A little support here would go a long way in getting you your dream Span wood floor realised!
